Determined to get in at the last minute UFC 314, Mauricio Ruffy wasted no time and has already revealed how he sees the potential fight against Paddy Pimblett. In addition to making himself available to be a reserve fighter for the fight between the English star x Michael chandler On April 12, the Brazilian claimed he would knock out 'Baddy' after frustrating the fighter's strategy.
“All he (Pimblett) does is put you on your back to the ground, to take you down, grab you. I’m sure he would get very desperate, because he was already trying to give his life there and he wouldn’t be able to take me down. The fighter in front of me is uncomfortable, he feels the difficulty of getting in and getting a fight there when he gets close. I believe the fight would end with him trying everything, giving up and me putting my good hands in, knocking him out. That’s how I see it,” said Ruffy during an interview with the Olhar da Luta channel.

Although there have been no public rumors about Pimblett or Chandler possibly withdrawing from the fight, Ruffy has put himself forward as a second option in case the UFC needs a replacement at the last minute. A prospect in the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), the Brazilian is coming off a resounding victory over King Green in his last appearance.
Scheduled to take place on April 12th in the city of Miami, the UFC 314 will feature Pimblett and Chandler in the penultimate fight of the event. The show will be headlined by the dispute for the vacant featherweight title (up to 65,7 kg) between Alexander Volkanovsky x Diego lopes.
