Current UFC interim heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg), Tom aspinall revealed optimism after a strategic meeting with Hunter Campbell, the organization's business director. The meeting, held in London, raised expectations for a possible unification of belts against Jon Jones.
“After the meeting, I’m feeling very optimistic about everything. I’m in a very, very good position regarding my future. People say, ‘Jon Jones "It's only been seven months, so it's not too bad. I don't want to say too much, but there are exciting things coming up," Aspinall said in an interview with 'The Ariel Helwani Show'.

Last Saturday (22), during an event in the British capital, the Englishman took a rubber duck to the audience — a reference to the expression 'ducking' (running away from fights, in English) —, accusing the North American of avoiding the fight.
Despite the progress in the talks, challenges remain. Sources close to the organization indicate that Jones requires a six-month preparation period to step into the octagon. The amount, considered high even by UFC standards, has not yet been agreed upon.
The meeting with Hunter Campbell, a key figure in UFC contract negotiations, suggests behind-the-scenes moves. Although he does not directly lead the organization of fights — a role assigned to president Dana White — the executive acts as a bridge in financial and strategic discussions.
