In the co-main event of UFC London , Jan Blachowicz was defeated by Carlos Ulberg in a fight that possibly determined a title shot in the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg). However, the New Zealander had failed to clearly impose himself throughout the fight, and after three rounds of action, the official result ended up frustrating the audience, who preferred a victory for the Pole.

Speaking for the first time after the result, through a post on Instagram, the former champion, who has now gone three fights without a win, praised his preparation and the treatment he received from the UFC during fight week, despite the outcome not going as planned.
“This camp was one of the best I’ve ever had. I missed this, every part of this game. The reception and support during UFC London ’s ‘fight week’ from the entire UFC team was incredible – I knew you missed me, but I didn’t imagine it was this much! Thank you!”, wrote the Polish fighter.
Although he did not contest the decision, Blachowicz made some indirect comments about the result. He also said he was happy with the fans' support, despite the defeat, which will forever be on his record.
“More controversy on my record, as it seems the approach to significant strikes isn’t aligned with the true meaning of the term. I leave the verdict up for discussion. What happened in the stands after the announcement and what’s happening online now speaks volumes. I appreciate that, but the verdict is in, and unfortunately, it will remain on my record. We move forward, looking for more. Your support has been enormous, and I will remember this moment for a long time,” concluded Jan Blachowicz.
