Famed grappler and jiu-jitsu legend Gordon Ryan revealed a story – previously unknown, according to him – regarding this episode to UFC commentator Joe Rogan. Ryan was Bones' cornerman in UFC 309.

“Good story of Jon Jones that nobody knows about. I was in [Jones’] corner for his last fight against Stipe. We found out Trump was going to be there. Probably 20 minutes of that warm-up was just him practicing the mechanics of how to do the Trump dance correctly,” he revealed.

This fact draws attention for two reasons: firstly, because Jones already had his victory in mind and secondly, because he was using up precious time preparing for a choreography. According to Ryan, the team did not object to this situation.

“We researched it, put it on YouTube, and he was practicing the Trump dance in the locker room, getting ready to do it. The best part is, we were all for it. We were like, ‘No, the hands need to be a little bit higher.’ We were coaching him for that,” he concluded.

Whether Trump liked the dance or not, the fact is that 'Bones' was personally invited to the inauguration of the current US president.

However, Jones may have no reason to dance as he finally books his title unification fight against the interim heavyweight titleholder, Tom aspinall. 'Bones' has been accused of 'delaying' the division and reportedly has a long list of requirements before signing on the dotted line, which may eventually force this unpopular course of action.
