One of the most anticipated fights of next month is unlikely to happen. However, according to the podcast 'MMA Hoje' , the duel has been cancelled.

The news was first reported this Sunday (30) on the 'X' (former Twitter) profile of 'MMA Hoje' . According to the publication, the main fight of UFC Kansas was cancelled because Jamahal Hill had to withdraw from the card as he continues to treat a leg injury that worsened after his defeat to Jiri Prochazka at UFC 311. The fight between the two American light heavyweights (up to 93kg) was highly anticipated by fans, including Alex Poatan , who even gave his opinion on who would win the duel. Both Hill and Rountree suffered defeats in their attempts to take the belt from the Brazilian, which currently belongs to the Russian Magomed Ankalaev.
If the news of the fight being cancelled is confirmed, the question is who should face Rountree at UFC Kansas. Besides Ankalaev, Poatan and Hill, Jiri Prochazka , Carlos Ulberg (who moved up three positions), Jan Blachowicz and Aleksandar Rakic are ranked above the American.
