In addition to being a rival of the former champion Alex Poatán, having lost both fights for the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg) to the Brazilian, Jiri Prochazka is known for his 'outside the box' training. From simulating punches on a moving gym treadmill to practicing 'shadow' with limited movement on the ice.

Now, the 'UFC Samurai' has come up with an even more peculiar method. This Monday (14), Prochazka made a post on his official 'X' profile showing a training session with his eyes blindfolded. Without seeing anything, the Czech fighter attacks a training dummy with several blows. (see below)
Before many criticize it, thinking that the training is pointless, it is worth remembering the number of UFC fighters who complain about eye pokes. Not to mention when a cut on the eyebrow causes blood to flow, hindering vision during the fight. Could Prochazka's training be an alternative to these problems?
What's next for Prochazka?
After defeating Jamahal hill No. UFC 311, in January of this year, the Czech fighter still does not have a fight scheduled. With the possible rematch between Alex Poatán e Magomed Ankalayev forwarded, Prochazka will need to fight one more fight before he gets another chance at the light heavyweight belt. One name that seems to fit this scenario is Carlos Ulberg, who won Jan Blachowicz No. UFC London.
At 32 years old, Prochazka has an impressive record of 31 wins, five losses and one draw. Currently ranked number two in the category, the Czech has already won six bonuses in Dana White's organization: two 'Fight of the Night' awards and four 'Performance of the Night' awards.
