In the UFC since 1997, Joe Rogan has the authority to give his opinion on various questions involving the organization. And when it comes to the weight cutting carried out by the athletes, the commentator didn't mince his words. He believes that the process is nothing more than 'sanctioned cheating'.

Rogan is the owner of the biggest podcast in the world. In a recent episode, he commented that cutting weight not only poses risks to athletes, but also calls into question the integrity of UFC divisions.
“I really wish the UFC would eliminate the weight cut, I really wish there was a way. It’s a sanctioned cheating that everyone has to do. If you say you weigh 82 pounds, you don’t actually weigh 66 pounds! So it’s kind of crazy that you’re the 66-pound champion and you’re a 82-pound fighter, it’s kind of crazy!” Rogan said.
The UFC commentator also gave the lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg) as an example. Islam makhachev, which has long reigned in the category.
"Like this Islam makhachev, he's a huge guy. How he weighs 70,3 pounds, I don't understand. Every time I stand next to him, I'm like, how do you weigh 70,3 pounds? He must be around 86 pounds,” he added.
In addition to being an employee, Joe Rogan is a friend of UFC president Dana White. He also said that he suggested that the organization abolish weight cutting once and for all, which is nothing more than an outdated habit.
“It’s so silly — the whole thing is just an old thing that we’ve kept for no reason. And I think they should do away with all the weight classes — I talked to Dana White about it. Do away with the weight cutting and add a bunch of weight classes!” he concluded.
