Fighter removed from UFC Kansas City after being arrested on sexual assault charges against minor

Afghan fighter Ahmad Hassanzada has been removed from the card UFC Kansas City after being arrested last Saturday (19) accused of sexual violence against a 14-year-old girl in Sacramento, California (USA). The event, which features as its main fight the duel between Carlos Prates e Ian Machado Garry, is scheduled for next Saturday (26).

The news was given first hand by 'Ag. Fight'. Hassanzada, 28, is charged with two felonies, including a lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14. He is being held in the Sacramento County Jail on $400 bail.

The lightweight athlete (up to 70,3 kg) would face Evan Elder in the UFC Kansas City. With Hassanzada out, the American will face newcomer Gauge Young.

The Afghan fighter earned a UFC contract after winning Dana White's Contender Series last year. Ahmad Hassanzada is expected to appear in court on Tuesday morning (22), according to records.
