Os rumors of a possible injury to the middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg) Dricus du Plessis shook up the MMA community last weekend and enraged Khamzat Chimaev, until then the favorite to face the South African for the category title. Amid the revolt, however, the Chechen may have found a new opponent: the Brazilian Caio Borralho.

Sixth in the rankings and undefeated in the UFC, Caio Borralho took advantage of the rumors about the champion's injury to immediately start a campaign for a duel against Chimaev, for the interim belt. According to the Brazilian, the Chechen would agree with the idea.

“I know a guy, UFC. You know who to call. Khamzat said yes! The only thing that makes sense is the interim belt! This fight is going to be bigger than him vs. Dricus, mark my words,” the Fighting Nerds rep wrote.

Khamzat Shimaev seems to have really bought into the idea of Caio Borralho. In a post on the social network 'X' (formerly Twitter), 'Lobo' shared a photo of an old training session, in which he appears taking down the Brazilian. In addition, the Chechen responded to one of the publications of the Fighting Nerds student.
