The event takes place in Louisiana, Poirier's home state, and marks the last appearance in the octagon of the fighter's career, having already previously announced the intention to hang up the gloves. This is the first time in a decade that Ultimate has returned to the site. After the athlete's statement, the official profiles from the UFC confirmed the news.
This will be Dustin's second time competing for the BMF title. He is looking to erase the bad impression from his first opportunity. In July 2023, he was knocked out by Justin gaethje No. UFC 291, held in Salt Lake City. Since then, Holloway has turned off the spotlight and become the new owner of the symbolic belt.
