It seems that the performance of Ian Machado Garry before Carlos Prates on Saturday night (26) at UFC Kansas City did not please some. The Irishman was strategic and managed to hold off the Brazilian, who had already won all four fights in the organization by knockout, and ended up conquering victory by unanimous decision of the judges.

However, Garry's triumph was far from easy. Prates increased the pace as the fight progressed, and nearly knocked out the Irishman in the fifth round. 'The Future' had to retreat several times and had to fight with the rules under his arm. Garry's fight IQ was highly praised by some UFC athletes.

But there was a direct competitor who didn't like the Irishman's performance. The 6th placed in the welterweight ranking (up to 77kg), Joaquin buckley, which was even present at the T-Mobile Center in UFC Kansas City, detonated the performance of Ian Gary calling him a coward.

“I think it was rubbish. I really think the Ian Gary had the potential to really pressure Prates, but he tried to play it safe the whole time, tried to avoid the knockout. Obviously, man, we saw Prates in that fifth round, he was trying to get to him and everything, and he turned the Ian Gary on the booty boy. My friend is trying to fight, my friend is trying to hold on for dear life, but I feel like the Ian Gary was wrong. He really could have had Performance of the Night, but, you know, he was too scared,” Buckley said during an interview with 'Inside Fighting'. (see below)

Garry and Buckley should have faced each other in the UFC Tampa, in December last year. However, the Irishman was moved to the co-main event of the UFC 310, when he was defeated by Shavkat Rakhmonov. 'New Mansa' ended up facing the loudmouth Colby covington, whom he beat up. Buckley's next challenge will be on June 14 against the former champion Kamaru Usman, at UFC Atlanta.

“Get ready for bed,” ‘New Mansa’ concluded as he got into his car.
