Michel Pereira loses spot to executioner and is removed from ranking after defeat at UFC Kansas City

After a second consecutive defeat, Michel Pereira left the category ranking and was replaced by Abus Magomedov

The frustrating performance of Michael Pereira in defeat against Abus Magomedov, on the main card of UFC Kansas City, held last Saturday (26), cost the Brazilian dearly. In an update released in the early hours of Tuesday (29), the 'Flying Paraense' was removed from the middleweight ranking (up to 83,9 kg), losing his place precisely to his executioner.

Michel, who entered the UFC Kansas City as the 14th placed in the middleweight ranking, he is no longer in the top 15. The Brazilian's executioner, Abus Magomedov debuted on the list, in 15th place, while the also Russian Roman Kopylov gained a position without fighting and inherited 14th place from the 'Flying Paraense'.

The defeat for Abus Magomedov was the second consecutive Michael Pereira in the UFC. The Brazilian, who had won his first three fights as a middleweight, was coming off a tough setback anthony hernandez in October of last year.

The middleweight division has the current champion as the South African Dricus du Plessis, who must defend the title against the undefeated Khamzat Shimaev. The dispute, however, still has no date to take place.
