Protagonists of great tension on the morning of this Friday (9) during the official weigh-in of the UFC 315, José Aldo e Aiemann Zahabi at least they had a positive ending in a turbulent backstage. No longer in the bantamweight (up to 61,2 kg), but in the featherweight (up to 65.7 kg), the Canadian opened up and explained the reason for changing the category on the eve of the fight.

“It was very strange. I was cutting my weight with blankets this morning (9), and I was at 61,9kg and Faras (Zahabi) received calls telling him to stop the weight cut. (They said) that Jose would not be able to make the weight, that he was at 65,9kg, that there was no way he could make the weight and the Montreal Commission allows a difference of up to 2,26kg, so there would be no (gain) of 20% of the purse, we would have to fight at featherweight. Bantamweight was completely ruled out. I negotiated with Sean Shelby, he made me an offer and I accepted the fight”, declared Zahabi. Sportsnet
