In a duel valid for the UFC lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), Melquizael Costa presented a real show in the octagon. The Brazilian shook julian erosa at various moments of the fight and secured victory by judges' decision after three rounds of pure action. However, despite the performance, the 'Dalmatian of MMA' left the fight with a very rare injury.
Through Instagram stories, Dana White shared a before and after video of a cut on Melquizael's toe, which was almost ripped off during the fight. With the injury, the Brazilian, who has already performed three times this year, will have to wait a little longer than expected to return to the octagon.
Despite the injury, Melk now has 24 career wins and dreams of a spot in the division's Top 15. Erosa, at 35 years old, suffered his 12th defeat and saw his streak of three positive results snapped.
