Former rival tells what it felt like to be punched by Alex Poatan: 'I've never felt anything like it'

Light heavyweight Dustin Jacoby, Vitor Petrino's tormentor, faced the former UFC champion back in the Glory Kickboxing days

Fans are eagerly awaiting the return of Alex Poatán to the UFC octagon. The former light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg) is experiencing a moment of introspection in his career after losing the belt to Magomed Ankalayev No. UFC 313, on March 8th. The Brazilian was given the chance by the organization's boss, Dana White, to have an immediate rematch against the Russian, but the date and location are still were not marked.

One of Poatan's most famous punches is his left hook. The 'Stone Hand' has already taken down names in the UFC such as Israel adesanya e Jamahal hill with his incredible weapon of devastating power.

Recently, a former rival from Glory Kickboxing confirmed the power of Poatan's punch when he faced the Brazilian at a time when he had not yet debuted in the octagon. dustin jacoby faced Alex in March 2014 and was knocked out in the first two minutes of the fight. In an interview with 'Inside Fighting', the American UFC light heavyweight reported what it felt like to be punched by him.

“He’s super fast, much faster than he looks. He has an aura, a physical presence. The guy is a warrior; he’s there to fight. The strength is unbelievable, I’ve never felt anything like it. He hits so well,” Jacoby revealed.

“When we fought, I was young in my career as well; I made the mistake. He hit me with a straight right hand, 30 seconds into the fight. It definitely shook me up, but I was still there. Where I made a mistake was when he just went full attack mode on me and I tried to get back into attack mode and keep up with him, instead of letting the fight slow down a little bit, recover, let him kind of tire himself out, wear him down a little bit,” he analyzed.

the last fight of dustin jacoby it was on UFC Tampa, in December of last year. The American defeated the Brazilian Victor Petrino after knocking him out in the third round.
