Charles of the Bronx revealed that his weight outside of the fight preparation period reaches 84 kg, equivalent to the limit for the middleweight category (up to 83,9 kg). In an interview with the podcast 'Overdogs Brasil' with presenters Marcos Parrumpinha and Renato Moicano, the Brazilian surprised with the contrast with his ability to reach the lightweight limit (70,3 kg) during the official weigh-ins.

Born in Guarujá, São Paulo, the 35-year-old fighter began his MMA career after standing out in jiu-jitsu, a sport he practiced since he was 12 amid financial and health challenges. With a record number of submissions under his belt, the São Paulo native won the belt in 2021, but lost the title on the scale before defending it against Justin gaethje No. UFC 274, when he registered 155,5 lb (70,5 kg), 200g above the permitted limit. At the time, he claimed problems with the official scale, but the organization maintained the decision.
