Veteran claims O'Malley will move to featherweight if he loses in UFC 316 rematch

Chael Sonnen argues that the organization will not grant his compatriot a third chance if Merab Dvalishvili triumphs again; the duel will take place on June 7

In preparation to avenge his latest defeat, Sean O'Malley may be about to make his final appearance in the bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg) of the Ultimate. In the view of Chael Sonnen, if the compatriot cannot overcome Merab Dvalishvili On June 7, at UFC 216, the former champion will need to move up to featherweight (up to 65,7 kg) to continue having a chance to stand out in the sport.

"Sean O'Malley win this fight or possibly never fight at 61 pounds again. This will be Sean's last chance against Merab. They won't do a part three. And if he doesn't get past Merab, he'll have to go to 66 pounds. Sean O'Malley “He’s our biggest sports star. When the biggest star starts having to worry about his job security, you’ve got something interesting,” Sonnen said in an interview with The Schmo.
