The UFC made official this Thursday (05/06) the departure of kron gracie from his active roster. The Brazilian, son of Rickson Gracie and grandson of Hélio Gracie, was one of three athletes dismissed in the featherweight category (65,7 kg), alongside Hakeem dawodu quality Connor Matthews.
The decision was based on technical criteria after three consecutive defeats by the heir to the most influential dynasty in martial arts. He was the only member of the family still in the organization.

Kron joined the world's biggest MMA event in 2019 with stratospheric expectations. His surname carried weight for the revolution started by his uncle, Royce gracie, winner of the first UFC in 1993. His debut in February was promising: a submission against the veteran Alex Caceres in about two minutes, earning the 'Performance of the Night' award.
Eight months later, Cub swanson imposed the first defeat on the Brazilian by unanimous decision, in a fight awarded as 'Fight of the Night'. After the fight, there was a four-year hiatus, during which time Kron stepped away from the octagon to focus on teaching BJJ at his academy in California.
His return in May 2023, against Charles Jourdain, ended in a new defeat on points. The peak of the crisis came in December 2024, when Bryce mitchell knocked him out with elbows on the ground UFC 310.
Kron Gracie fired from UFC
The ultimate presentation of kron gracie in the UFC exposed tactical contradictions. Instead of utilizing his world-famous ground game, the Brazilian repeatedly pulled guard, a jiu-jitsu technique rarely effective in contemporary MMA. Mitchell then capitalized on the weakness with slam (ground and pound punch).
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Kron is the youngest son of Rickson Gracie, a legendary ninth-degree red belt in BJJ and an icon of MMA in the 1990s. His grandfather, Hélio Gracie, is one of the pillars of the gentle art, adapted from the judo taught by Japanese Mitsuyo Maeda to the Gracies in Belém do Pará in the 1920s.
