Main challenger in the UFC middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg), Nassourdine Imavov ended months of speculation with a confirmation on social media: it will face Caio Borralho. The Frenchman used his official account on 'X' (formerly Twitter) to confirm a fight with the Brazilian and promise to 'crush' him in the organization's octagon. The fight has not yet been announced by Dana White's company.

“There is no longer the possibility of being a reserve (for Dricus du Plessis x Khamzat Shimaev). The conditions have changed. Did you want to talk, son? I'm here, I'll break you,” wrote the Frenchman.

The tension has been building since April 2025, when Borralho publicly accused Imavov of refusing a fight. The Frenchman, in turn, prioritized serving as a reserve for the title fight between Dricus du Plessis x Khamzat Shimaev, who face each other at UFC 319 on August 16.

Caio's patience, however, is running out. He hasn't fought since August 2024, when he overcame Jared Cannonier, the Brazilian called his potential opponent 'weak', in addition to pressuring the organization for his return to the Ultimate octagon. Sixth in the ranking, he wants to secure his position as the next challenger with just one more victory.

The fight, which has no official date yet, should function as a 'eliminator' for the belt. Imavov has won four consecutive matches, including a knockout over Israel adesanya in February. Borralho, in turn, built his trajectory with triumphs over Paul Craig e Jared Cannonier.
