The curse of main event fights continues for Brazilian fighters. Headlining UFC Nashville this Saturday (12), Talisson Teixeira was no match for the overwhelming power of Derrick Lewis and ended up being another victim of the Ultimate's all-time knockout record holder, who needed only 35 seconds to settle the score. With the defeat of the Bahia native, Brazil has nine losses in nine main event fights against foreigners in the year 2025.
The loss against Derrick Lewis was the first of Talisson Teixeira's professional MMA career. Before that, Xicão had knocked out or submitted all six opponents he faced.

Derrick Lewis started the fight with a straight punch that missed. Tallison Teixeira landed a counter jab to the American's face, who complained of a problem with his right eye. Despite this, Lewis went all out and connected with hard blows against the Brazilian, who went down. The American wasted no time, continued to punish 'Xicão' with ground and pound and secured the victory by technical knockout.
