Walter Walker took no notice of Kennedy Nzechukwu and won by submission with another heel hook in the third fight of the preliminary card of UFC Nashville. This was the Brazilian's third consecutive victory in the organization, which broke the Nigerian's winning streak and placed him as the fighter with the second most victories using the technique in the organization's history, behind only Rousimar Toquinho.

Walker was very aggressive from the first second and went after his opponent. He landed strong punches against the fence and secured the takedown after the Nigerian raised his guard. The Brazilian controlled the back and then transitioned to a heel hook. Nzechukwu couldn't resist the adjustment of the hold and tapped out 54 seconds into the fight, showing a pained expression.
In the interview with Daniel Cormier Inside the octagon, he explained that it was another variation of the move, and promised to show a new way of applying the technique the next time he steps into the octagon.

In the second fight of the preliminary card, Mike Davis won Mitch Ramirez by technical knockout in the second round in a lightweight bout (up to 70,3 kg). The victory broke the fighter's losing streak, while Ramirez remains winless in the world's largest MMA organization.
Bigger and physically stronger, Davis went for the grapple and managed to take his opponent to the ground with a wide-ranging takedown in the first round. He successfully controlled Ramirez on the ground and came close to finishing the fight with a rear-naked choke.
The dynamic shifted to stand-up in the following round. Davis remained aggressive and, after cornering Ramirez against the fence, landed a combination of punches to the head that sent Ramirez to the ground and forced the referee to stop the fight four minutes and eight seconds into the second round.

Fatima Kline won Melissa Martinez with a beautiful knockout in the third round in the first fight of the night, in a duel valid for the flyweight division (up to 56,7 kg). With the triumph, Kline confirmed his favoritism and reached his eighth victory as a professional, in addition to gifting himself with a memorable moment on his 25th birthday.
The American dominated the center of the Octagon and imposed herself physically from the start of the fight. Fatima displayed an impressive variety of kicks and successfully attacked her opponent and escaped her range without receiving counterattacks.
Despite having some good moments exposing herself, Melissa spent most of her time in a defensive posture and receiving precise combinations from the North American, both to the head and to the waistline.
Although the fight featured moments of isometric fighting against the fence, the fight was fought standing up for most of the rounds, and the fight concluded with the exchanges. In the third round, Kline landed a perfect kick to her opponent's head, knocking Martinez out at two minutes and 36 seconds.
