In a strategic performance, the 27-year-old Brazilian emerged victorious by split decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28) and should take over 12th place in the division, which belongs to 'Wonderboy'.

In a duel on the main card of the UFC Nashville, Steve Garcia dominated and beat Calvin kattar, securing a spot in the next update of the category rankings. Aggressive as usual, Garcia didn't get the knockout, but did enough to come away with the victory by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
The victory over Calvin kattar was the sixth consecutive Steve Garcia in the UFC, but the first in a row won by judges' decision. The American should occupy 14th place in the rankings in the update next Tuesday (16).
On the other side, Calvin kattar finds himself in a very delicate situation after suffering his fifth consecutive loss in the organization. The former title challenger hasn't won since January 2022 and is expected to drop out of the top 15 in the division.
