Alex Poatán surprised himself when he weighed himself on the scale. The former light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg) weighed 110 kg, as he revealed on his social media. At 38 years old, the Brazilian was in São Paulo for the inauguration of his institute and is currently in Rio de Janeiro, preparing for his rematch against Magomed Ankalayev for the division belt.

“Yeah... Getting a little strong, right? Let's see here. The moment of truth now. How much? (110 kg.). Is it possible to gain a little more weight, right?”, said Poatan in the video.

Poatan's next fight is being negotiated to take place on October 25th in Abu Dhabi, where he is expected to face Magomed Ankalayev in a rematch for the linear light heavyweight belt (up to 93 kg).

The Brazilian lost the title against the Russian in UFC 313, in a fight marked by the opponent's dominance in the clinch and octagon control. The fight was decided on points.

Poatan hasn't ruled out moving up to the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg) or even testing his boxing skills after his fight against Ankalaev. He stated that he is willing to explore new career opportunities, depending on the results of his upcoming fights.
