In dire need of a victory, Mayra Sheetara already knows what her next challenge in the octagon will be. A former title challenger, the Brazilian will face the Portuguese Jacqueline Cavalcanti in a duel valid for bantamweight (up to 61,2 kg), at an event at the Apex, in Las Vegas, on November 8. The information was initially released by Ag Fight.

At 34, Mayra Sheetara is going through the worst phase of his career. After having won over Holly holm changed to 'no result' due to a failed anti-doping test, the Minas Gerais native suffered three consecutive defeats, including the dispute for the vacant belt in the category against Rachel Pennington, in January of last year. In her last appearance, she was defeated by the Canadian Jasmine Jasudavicius, in February of this year, in Saudi Arabia. Despite the difficult moment, Sheetara defends her eighth place in the bantamweight rankings.

Sheetara's next opponent, Jacqueline Cavalcanti tries to break the top 10 barrier. Born in São Paulo, but naturalized Portuguese, the 27-year-old athlete occupies the 11th position in the ranking and is undefeated in the UFC, with four victories in four fights, the last of them over Julia Avila, in February this year.

the duel between Mayra Sheetara e Jacqueline Cavalcanti was the first one sent by the UFC for the November 8th card, which still doesn't have a defined main fight.
