Brazilian shows mark on his face and intensifies preparation to try to regain the light heavyweight belt in October

Alex Poatán showed that the preparation for the long-awaited rematch against Magomed Ankalayev It's been intense. In a post on his official Instagram stories, the Brazilian showed off a black eye, the result of the 'war' in training for the light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) title fight, which takes place in... UFC 320, scheduled for October 4th in Las Vegas (USA).

“Are you crazy?” joked Poatan, showing his black eye.

In addition to the visible marks, the Brazilian also shared images of his grappling training, under the watchful eye of Glover Teixeira, his mentor and former UFC champion.

Rematch between Poatan x Ankalaev

The rematch between Poatan and Ankalaev takes place seven months after the first fight, held at UFC 313, in March of this year, where the Russian won the belt with a unanimous decision victory.

At the time, the fight was marked by a cautious pace and defensive strategies, which generated criticism, including from UFC president Dana White.

Determined to correct past mistakes, Alex stated that he is confident and focused on returning "much better" for the new challenge. Meanwhile, Ankalaev remains firm and is betting that the fight this time will be even more favorable to him.
