Last Saturday (13), Jean Silva suffered his first defeat in the UFC when he was knocked out by Diego Lopes in the second round in the main fight of Noche UFC . The Brazilian, who until then was undefeated in the organization with five quick consecutive victories, used his social networks to talk about the result and make a self-criticism.
“Unfortunately, yesterday my emotions got the better of me. I was doing well in the second round, but I ended up going all out, wanting to fight. Anyway… I ended up fighting alone, I wasn't connected with my team, so the responsibility for the defeat is entirely mine. It was meant to be, with 13 seconds left, and let's go,” Jean Silva stated on his official Instagram account.

In addition to the defeat of the fighter from Manaus, two other members of the Fighting Nerds team also recently lost their undefeated records in the UFC: Caio Borralho and Maurício Ruffy, who were defeated by Nassourdine Imavov and Benoit Saint-Denis , respectively. Jean made a point of commenting on this delicate moment for the team.
“You’re right about one thing: we were three Fighting Nerds who lost in a row, so the three of us must be making similar mistakes. Caio Borralho , (Maurício) Ruffy, and I are going to have a meeting to identify this and improve. Like it or not, I’m sorry. We’ll be back,” he assured.
The rivalry between Jean Silva and Diego Lopes took on a special dimension in the weeks leading up to the fight, with taunts and provocations that heightened the anticipation for the bout.
Inside the Octagon, the fight did not disappoint. The Manaus native dominated the opening moments, but the Paraná native fought back in the second round, balancing the fight until suffering a decisive spinning elbow that ended the contest.
