Former light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg), Alex Poatan is only thinking about the rematch against Magomed Ankalaev , which takes place this Saturday (4), in Las Vegas (USA). So much so that not even the grand and highly anticipated UFC event at the White House, scheduled for July 2026, distracts the Brazilian.

In a conversation with journalists, the renowned striker, when asked if he would be interested in fighting in the event, given that he is one of the UFC's biggest stars, downplayed the chance of joining. It is true that several athletes, including Conor McGregor and Jon Jones , have already expressed a desire to compete in the show and asked Dana White for a spot, but Alex does not treat it as a priority.

All because Poatan wants to remain active, whether at light heavyweight or even, who knows, a possible venture into heavyweight. In any case, the renowned striker isn't closing the door on fighting in the White House.

“It’s been seven months without fighting. It was a good amount of time, I did all the planning to take care of my body, my injuries, but it’s a long time. I’m going to fight now, so until this White House event it will also be exactly seven months and I don’t intend to wait that long. I want to fight a little sooner. I don’t know how that would work. We’ll see how this fight goes and then we’ll figure it out,” said the fighter.
