Current middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg) and looking to further increase his legacy in MMA, Khamzat Shimaev doesn't hesitate to take aim at the big challenges that can be found in the UFC. Even after the frightening triumph of Alex Poatán about Magomed Ankalayev, the Chechen seems confident to face the Brazilian, regardless of the category the Indian decides to remain in next.

Aware that Poatan wants to move up to heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) in order to have super fights, 'Lobo' promises to hunt him down so that there are no more options other than accepting a fight in the Ultimate octagon.

"I'm ready to fight you at heavyweight, you won't find a super fight (better) than our fight. 'Don't call', this is SMASH EVERYBODY (smash everyone)," Chimaev said on his official X account.

Despite his attempts to draw attention to the fight, Chimaev has already received a negative response from the Brazilian, who thanked him for congratulating him on his victory but declined the chance to face him next. The talk of moving up to heavyweight came after Poatan declared his disinterest in a potential meeting.

Aiming for super fights, Poatan asked for the opportunity to measure forces against Jon Jones at UFC Casa Branca, an event scheduled to take place in June 2026. In light of the death of the American's brother, the São Paulo native, however, ended up preaching respect and admitted that he was willing to wait for the moment of mourning experienced by 'Bones'.
