Even while focused on preparing for UFC Rio, Charles do Bronx couldn't resist commenting on one of the most talked-about fights in the world of fighting right now: Alex Poatan vs. Jon Jones . In an interview during media day, which was attended by SUPER LUTAS , the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) revealed his admiration for 'Bones', but stated that he would root for his compatriot if the superfight were to happen.
“It’s even complicated to talk about, because Jon Jones is a guy I admire a lot. It’s going to be a fight I’ll sit down to watch and I’ll be rooting for our Brazilian ( Alex Poatan ). But I’ll be watching apprehensively, because Jones is a gigantic guy. Anyone who gets in front of Poatan, regardless of whether he’s a guy who only takes down or not, if he lands a punch, he’ll be knocked out,” declared Charles.

The potential superfight between Alex Poatan and Jon Jones has been generating a lot of buzz behind the scenes in the UFC in recent weeks. The current light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg) has publicly expressed his desire to face the American, even if it means moving up to the heavyweight division.
'Bones', in turn, also mentioned the Brazilian's name in recent interviews, but the realization of the match still depends on several factors, including the availability of both athletes and the approval of president Dana White.
