Valter Walker is a big loss for UFC Rio. Last Thursday (9), the Brazilian, who was one of the athletes most excited to fight this Saturday (11), received the news that the duel with Mohammed Usman in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg) was cancelled. Following this, the company looked for a new opponent for Johnny Walker 's brother to continue in the show, but did not find one. Irritated, the Rio native did not forgive his rival.
At the official UFC Rio weigh-in, held on Friday morning (10), Valter showed up and, upon stepping on the scale, blasted the Nigerian. Even with the fight canceled, the Brazilian had to make weight to secure his purse. In his lament, the athlete accused Usman of having pulled out of the fight out of fear and emphasized that he was in excellent condition to not only win, but also impress at the event.

Upset about being left out of UFC Rio, Valter, who is currently enjoying a successful professional run and gaining popularity, took the opportunity to ask the UFC for another chance to fight in front of his fans during his next visit to Brazil. The Brazilian's desire is understandable, as he has only fought once in his home country, specifically in 2022.
"I was ready for this son of a bitch! I trained hard for this fight, but this son of a bitch ran! I just wanted to ask the UFC for an opportunity to fight in Rio de Janeiro again, because it's my dream. My dream is to fight in Rio de Janeiro. I came ready for war! Look at this, I'm in shape for heavyweight!" said the fighter.
