Top-5 heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg), Jailton Malhadinho is in the final stretch of preparation for a decisive fight in the UFC. On October 25th, in Abu Dhabi (UAE), the Brazilian will face Alexander Volkov , aiming for the opportunity to fight for the category's belt afterward. Aware of the importance of the duel against the Russian, the athlete from 'Galpão da Luta' gave an encouraging statement to his fans.
On his official 'X' account, Malhadinho expressed his excitement for the fight and exuded confidence in victory. Riding high on two consecutive victories, the Brazilian assured he was ready to face Volkov, highlighting a significant improvement in his physical, mental, and technical aspects. Thus, the Bahia native hinted that the Russian giant, ranked second in the division, will be in a tough spot when he meets him in the octagon.

New chance against a top-5
With victories over Alexander Romanov and Serghei Spivac , Jailton Malhadinho received a new chance from the UFC to test himself against a top-5 heavyweight. In 2024, the Brazilian even surprised Curtis Blaydes with his takedowns, but ended up being knocked out in the second round, suffering his first defeat in the organization. Currently, the athlete is ranked fifth in the category's rankings.
