Despite being away from the octagon, Jon Jones shows that he follows MMA and that the rivalry with Tom Aspinall remains alive. A rival of the heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg), the UFC Hall of Famer made a point of mocking him after Aspinall withdrew from his fight against Ciryl Gane in October in Abu Dhabi (UAE) due to the controversial eye poke he received.
During an appearance on the 'No Scripts' podcast, Jones mocked the athlete's desperation in the octagon, mimicking his reaction, and went even further. Not satisfied, the American questioned Aspinall's grit and heart when faced with adverse situations in combat.

Moreover, this wasn't the first time the MMA legend had described his rival more as a quitter than a real fighter. According to Jones, Aspinall is so used to winning fights quickly that he gets lost when something goes wrong.
“When Aspinall gets hurt, he’s immediately incapacitated. It’s like you poked his eye, but there was no attempt to blink. I would have looked ridiculous on TV blinking my eyes trying to continue. He did the same thing against Blaydes when he hurt his knee. He didn’t limp, he didn’t try to get up. He simply gave up immediately, saying, ‘screw it, I can’t continue!’ He gives up immediately. When he was submitted with an ankle lock, he didn’t try to fight back. He gives up immediately,” said the MMA legend.
UFC White House
Despite the provocation, Jon Jones is not focused on the fight against Tom Aspinall , but rather on Alex Poatan . The MMA legend wants to step into the octagon once again at UFC White House and has consistently made his interest clear to fans and, especially, to Dana White.
