The light heavyweight champion is taking advantage of his time in Brazil to train grappling alongside athletes from the São Paulo team.

In a video posted on Instagram, Poatan appears in a grappling session with athlete Elias Silvério on the Fighting Nerds mat. In the footage, the champion exchanges positions in the clinch with his training partner and displays technique by executing a roll to escape a back take.

In an interview with 'Omeleteve' during CCXP25, Poatan commented that he remains interested in debuting in the heavyweight category (up to 120,2kg) and that he has expressed this desire several times to UFC officials. However, the Brazilian acknowledges that the decision does not depend solely on him and states that, like the fans, he is also eagerly awaiting the next steps.
