Khamzat Chimaev believes he is more famous than Alex Poatan . Recently, the Brazilian stated that the reason the Chechen repeatedly provokes him is to take advantage of his popularity and generate hype, something that, in the view of the middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg), is a big mistake.
In an interview with ESPN MMA, Khamzat Chimaev once again refuted the narrative and highlighted that his influence on social media surpasses that of Poatan. The Chechen stated that even simple interactions, such as a greeting on his Instagram stories, often generate more views than the Brazilian's own fights.

“He says he’s more famous than me, and that’s why I use his name. Man, if I just say ‘hi’ on my Instagram story, I get more views than his fights,” said Khamzat Chimaev.
Alex Poatan doesn't want to face Khamzat Chimaev in the UFC.
Alex Poatan participated in a Q&A session for UFC Rio, held in October, and, despite the rivalry, made it clear that he has no interest in facing Khamzat Chimaev in the UFC octagon.
"It's not in my plans. That's not my focus. I respect the fighters, whoever wants to face me, but unfortunately, not now," said the UFC champion.
