Alexander Volkanovski is already planning a quick resolution to his rematch with Diego Lopes , scheduled for UFC 325 on January 31st. After defeating the Brazilian by unanimous decision at UFC 314 , the featherweight champion granted the rematch and made it clear that he intends to leave the octagon with minimal wear and tear, opening up space for other names in the division to have future opportunities.

The Australian stated that the strategy involves avoiding damage and ensuring a quick recovery after the fight, which would allow him to remain active in the category. In this scenario, Volkanovski mentioned possible new challenges, such as Movsar Evloev or Lerone Murphy , as upcoming opponents on his radar.

“I intend to go there without suffering any damage and have a quick recovery… then maybe we can face someone like Movsar or Lerone Murphy ,” said Alexander Volkonovski.

Volkanovski was expecting new rivals before his rematch with Diego Lopes in the UFC.

Despite not complaining about facing Diego Lopes for the second consecutive time, the featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg) had hoped to face other opponents. In a video published on his YouTube channel, the fighter revealed that he was working with the expectation of facing names like Lerone Murphy or Movsar Evloev in December, candidates that he himself had publicly challenged.
