Deiveson Figueiredo made it clear that he doesn't care about being the underdog against Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC 324 on January 24th in Las Vegas (USA). The Brazilian, former UFC flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg), is comfortable with himself and stated that he will seek a victory via knockout or submission.

In an interview with the website 'Sherdog.com', the "God of War" detailed his preparation to face the Russian and how he envisions the outcome of the duel. Umar, 30, has only lost once in his career, winning all of his other 19 fights. However, Deiveson is confident that the combination of his experience as a fighter and the dedication he has shown in training for UFC 324 will help him emerge victorious from this battle.

“Everyone knows that he ( Umar Nurmagomedov ) has a good grappling game, but he will face a different opponent, a former champion, and one punch from me could change everything. In any case, fighting against favorites only increases my motivation.”

The training period here at Pitbull Brothers was perfect. The resources here are excellent. Training partners like Leandro Higo (from PFL) only motivated me to give my best every day, and thank God we reached the end of the training period without injuries. You can be sure that I will have a great fight. My goal is to win by knockout or submission.

“I have many more fights than him. I will be aggressive, blocking takedowns and landing strong punches. We know that when we block his takedowns, he gets frustrated, just like other Russian fighters. If he takes me down, I will work hard on my offensive striking game. My jiu-jitsu is very sharp for this fight,” said Deiveson Figueiredo in an interview.
