Robelis Despaigne went over Junior Gypsy this Saturday (16), in California (USA), in the opening of the main card of the MMA event on Netflix. In a duel valid for the heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg), the Cuban pressured from the first seconds and defined the fight in the first round after a forceful sequence of blows to the Brazilian's head.

Current Karate Combat heavyweight champion Despaigne started the fight imposing a strong pace and landing powerful strikes right from the beginning. Cigano managed to block some of the attacks, but the Cuban began to control the distance with kicks and quick combinations of punches. The Brazilian tried to respond with low kicks and straight punches, seeking to even the exchanges.

As the round progressed, Despaigne increased the pressure even further and began to find openings in the defense of the current Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA heavyweight champion. At 2:40, a precise uppercut opened a cut on Cigano's mouth, who began to show signs of fatigue and started to retreat inside the cage.

Shortly after, Despaigne connected with a jab followed by a right cross and a clean left hook to the Brazilian's chin, taking Cigano to the ground and ending the fight by knockout. With the victory, Robelis Despaigne He reached six wins and two losses in his professional MMA record. On the other side, the former UFC heavyweight champion now has a record of 23 wins and 11 losses in his career.

Salhadine Parnasse proved why he is considered one of the biggest MMA prospects outside of the UFC. The Franco-French fighter entered the MVP event in partnership with Netflix and, after starting the fight at a fast pace, delivered a beautiful knockout against Kenneth Cross in the first round.

With the victory, Parnasse reached 23 wins as a professional and extended his streak to five consecutive wins. Cross, on the other hand, saw his series of four straight victories come to an end.
