Ronda Rousey She's tough as nails and has already decided what to do after shining in her return to combat sports. Last Saturday (16), in California (USA), the UFC Hall of Famer justified her status as the big star of Netflix's first MMA event, needing only 17 seconds to finish Gina Carano. And those who saw the American in action again, saw it.
Still in the cage and also at the post-show press conference, Ronda made it clear that her MMA fighting career is over for the second time, and now for good. The American's first retirement happened in 2016 and was anything but pleasant. On that occasion, the athlete suffered at the hands of... Amanda nunes and was brutally knocked out in the first round.
Ten years later, Rousey erased the bad impression by winning again in the way she knows best: with a devastating armbar submission. Because of her impressive performance, many began to speculate and even hope that the veteran would extend her career to, perhaps, face Amanda again. “There was no better way to end things. I want to have more children and I need to start trying. I’m thinking about having two more babies. The worst part is that I’m so good at everything. It’s like I feel like you can always do more. I would crush it in combat jiu-jitsu, but no, no, no. I’m fine, I’m not going to do that. I’m very happy to be back, but I’m also ready to move on now, without a doubt. Now, I can move on knowing that it’s the right time,” said the MMA legend.
“I’m really looking forward to what’s next. This was the best experience to end with. It couldn’t have been better. The whole build-up to the fight, Gina, was a feel-good experience from beginning to end, an inspiring story. Taking everything I learned in WWE and bringing it to the MMA promotion was so much fun. It can’t get any better than this. I’ve reached my peak and I’m leaving,” she concluded.
