For his first fight in the WEC, the native of Rio Grande do Norte faces the undefeated American Anthony leone, who will also make her debut at the event.

WEC-49 takes place on June 20th, in Edmonton, Canada and will have 4 more Brazilian athletes in action. Wagnney Fabiano faces Frank Gomez, Rafael Rebello will face Chris Cariaso and Brazilian Rafael Assunção will face Diego Nunes in fights on the preliminary card.
