Mauricio Ruffy has made himself available to replace any of the protagonists of UFC 329 , scheduled for next Saturday (11), even if he is called upon at the last minute. The event will feature the return of Conor McGregor , who faces Max Holloway after a five-year hiatus from MMA. Given the possibility of unforeseen circumstances involving the athletes, the former member of Fighting Nerds guaranteed he is ready to take over the fight and 'save' the show.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Ruffy stated that he is prepared to meet all necessary requirements if called upon, including making weight and stepping into the octagon on Saturday. Although he has not received confirmation regarding the need to weigh in, the fighter reiterated that he is still awaiting possible contact from the UFC.

“If I need to make weight, I will make weight, and if I need to be ready, I will be ready to fight on Saturday. They haven't confirmed whether I need to weigh in or not. I don't think they had any problem regarding weight, but if they need anything, I'm waiting for the call,” said Mauricio Ruffy.

Although he's eyeing a potential spot in the main event between Conor McGregor and Max Holloway , Mauricio Ruffy could also emerge as an option for the co-main event of UFC 329. On that occasion, Paddy Pimblett faces Benoit Saint-Denis in the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), opening up another possibility for the Brazilian to compete at the event.
