Accustomed to dealing with the violence of fights, Bruce Souto experienced an extremely dangerous situation outside of combat sports. Last Thursday (9), in Minas Gerais, the fighter, former member of PFL, was shot. According to Rádio Itatiaia, the episode would have occurred shortly after a football match between members of 'Galoucura', organized supporters of Atlético Mineiro.
Despite the unfortunate incident, Bruce is not in danger of death, as the bullet hit a non-vital area of his body. According to the police report, released by Rádio Itatiaia, the Military Police were called and received information that gunshots had been fired at the Baleião stadium, in the Aglomerado da Serra. In conversation with local merchants, the officers learned that the incidents were related to arguments and went to the João XXIII emergency room, where they found the wounded fighter.

Lucidly, Bruce detailed what happened to the police, reporting that the suspect appeared at the scene after the match and asked him if he had any personal problems with him. Then, the individual allegedly threatened the athlete with death and shot him. While running, Souto was hit once and taken to the emergency room by a group of people.
Possible motivation
According to Bruce, the shooter is a member of one of Atlético Mineiro's organized fan groups. The fighter also stated that the motivation for the attack may have been a post shared on his official Instagram account last Thursday (9), in which he appeared with alleged members of 'Galoucura' saying, 'Let's not say anything yet. Not yet', and with the caption, “History will always remember those who made a difference, not those who only talked about it. Respect, unity, hierarchy, commitment and discipline. We are Galoucura”.
Problems with the Law
After the accusation made by Bruce, the Military Police visited the suspect of the shootings this Friday (10), but did not find him at home. In fact, the alleged individual was even convicted of homicide after being involved in a fight between Atlético Mineiro and Cruzeiro fans, 2024. On that occasion, a Cruzeiro fan lost his life.

With Bruce recovering, a close associate gained access to his official Instagram profile and not only updated his health status but also provided more details about the attack.
"Guys, Bruce is okay and, thank God, out of danger. We trust in the justice system and believe that the person responsible will be held accountable for everything he did. He will not go unpunished. The facts are clear: six shots were fired at Bruce . There were about 100 people at the scene . The perpetrator acted with his face uncovered, without any concern for hiding his identity . Everyone who was present saw him, and many know him. We are confident that justice will do its job and that this criminal will be arrested."

"I want to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all the messages of affection, support, and prayers I have received. I apologize for not having been able to respond yet. I spent the night awake, I'm not feeling very well, and we are quite tired. As soon as I feel better, I will make sure to respond to everyone. Tomorrow, I will record a video to talk to you and explain everything that happened."
