Conor McGregor is confident in an unusual internet prediction to try and further increase his financial wealth. The Irishman, who has already earned over R$1 billion throughout his career , bet $100 (approximately R$550 at the current exchange rate) on Argentina's victory over Spain in the 2026 World Cup final. If the prediction comes true, the former UFC champion could earn around $3,6 million (approximately R$19,8 million). The choice, however, was not based on traditional sports analysis, but rather on a viral prediction that has been circulating on social media for years.

In an Instagram post, McGregor explained that he decided to follow an old prediction made by an internet user, who, about five years ago, predicted that Argentina and Spain would play in the World Cup final, with Argentina winning 3-2 in regulation time. Intrigued by the coincidence involving the finalists, the Irishman stated that he trusted the prediction and decided to bet heavily on the exact result of the match.

"Hey guys, Conor McGregor here with my final World Cup prediction. My prediction is Argentina beating Spain 3-2 in 90 minutes. Why am I doing this? Five years ago, some guy on the internet predicted that Argentina and Spain would be in the World Cup final and that the score would be 3-2. How did this guy know these guys would be in the final? And then they are. And then the score is 3-2, I'm not going with them," said Conor McGregor.
