Werdum vs. bad smell
Featuring two Brazilian fighters, another edition of Strikeforce takes place today in San Jose, California. The show, which will be broadcast live throughout Brazil via HBO Plus, will feature the highly anticipated duel between black belt Fabricio Werdum and the Russian beast Fedor Emelianenko as the main attraction of the night. Facing an opponent considered by many to be invincible, the Brazilian shows great confidence for the duel.
“Something is only impossible until it happens for the first time. Back in the Pride days, Tom Erikson was a phenomenon, nobody wanted to fight him. But I took on the challenge and beat him. It was an extremely 'cerebral' fight. I respect Fedor for everything he did, but I respect even more all the necessary effort that brought me to where I am,” said Werdum, in an exclusive interview with SUPER LUTAS blogger Fernando Cappelli.
In addition to the Fedor vs. Werdum fight, Strikeforce also features Brazilian Cris Cyborg defending her women's title against American Jan Finney. Check out the full fight card, which starts at 22 PM.
