The clash between Arman Tsarukyan and Mauricio Ruffy promises to be one of the biggest tests of both athletes' careers. Looking ahead to the UFC 331 duel, scheduled for September 19th in Los Angeles (USA), the Armenian's main coach, Brazilian Marcos Parrumpa DaMatta, analyzed the differences for a possible fight against Charles do Bronx.
In an interview with Laerte Viana's YouTube channel, released this Friday (7), 'Parrumpinha' highlighted that the dangers presented by Charles and Ruffy are completely different. While the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg) represents a threat mainly in the ground game, the former Fighting Nerds fighter draws attention for his offensive power on his feet.

“It’s different. As dangerous as Charles is on the ground, Luffy is on his feet. He’s a guy who knows how to keep his distance very well. I think it’s no surprise what their strategies are,” the coach stated.
“I think it changes quite a bit, in certain areas, obviously, Luffy is much more dangerous than anyone in the Top 5 there. He’s very versatile, he’s a guy who kicks, punches, knees. A strong guy. It’s a complicated fight,” Parrumpa concluded.
The duel against Mauricio Ruffy represents a new type of challenge for Tsarukyan within the lightweight division. Accustomed to imposing his takedown and pressure game in the octagon, the Armenian will face one of the most dangerous strikers in the category, known for his creative strikes and high finishing power.

In addition to managing Arman Tsarukyan 's corner in the co-main event, Marcos 'Parrumpa' DaMatta will also face another major challenge at UFC 331. The Brazilian coach is responsible for preparing Alexandre Pantoja , who is looking to regain the flyweight title (up to 56,7 kg) after the injury suffered in his first fight. He is also training Renato Moicano, who faces Brian Ortega.

At 29 years old, Tsarukyan is considered one of the top names in the UFC lightweight division. A professional since 2015, the Armenian has a record of 23 wins and three losses, with nine wins by knockout and six by submission. Among his career highlights are victories over names like Beneil Dariush , Dan Hooker , and Charles Oliveira.
