Former fighter Paulão Filho , one of the biggest names in Brazilian MMA history, needs hip surgery and is receiving support from friends and fans to cover the costs of the procedure and recovery process. A crowdfunding campaign has been created to raise funds for the surgery, physiotherapy sessions, and other treatment expenses.
In a post on Paulão's Instagram profile, it was reported that the campaign has a goal of R$ 60, an amount that will be allocated to the complete hospital infrastructure, the medical team, and the implantation of the prosthesis.

According to the campaign description, Paulão Filho has been facing a serious hip problem for about eight years, which has progressively compromised his quality of life. After years of consultations and treatments, the former fighter now needs surgery, but issues related to coverage and the validity of his health insurance plan have prevented the procedure from being performed through the plan.
The campaign also highlights Paulão's difficulty in asking for help, emphasizing that, even as a role model of strength for many, the MMA icon also needs support at this time.
“It’s not easy for anyone to ask for help — and we know that, especially for someone who has spent their life being a beacon of strength for so many people, this request can be even more difficult. But the time has come to recognize that even warriors need support.”

Considered one of the greatest middleweights (up to 83,9 kg) in the history of Brazilian MMA, Paulão Filho, from Rio de Janeiro , built a legendary career marked by a long undefeated streak at the top.
Hailing from Carlson Gracie's Jiu-Jitsu school and representing Brazilian Top Team, he dominated the defunct Japanese event PRIDE, where he won the middleweight Grand Prix in 2006, and became WEC champion in 2007, achieving a record of 16 consecutive wins without a single loss at the start of his career.
