A star of one of the toughest divisions in all of MMA, Carlos Prates continues to insist on showing the world that he deserves the opportunity to become the first Brazilian to win the UFC welterweight belt (up to 77,1 kg). Coming off three consecutive knockout wins, the Fighting Nerds athlete posted a video on his social media this Monday (31) to reinforce the challenge to Islam Makhachev.
Creative as always with his provocations, the São Paulo native doesn't say anything in the video, only staring enthusiastically at the octagon with an angry expression. The moment was captured during UFC 330 , where the Brazilian was one of the VIP guests to watch Makhachev's victory against Ian Garry in the main event.

Although he doesn't say anything, a monologue by the character Tony Montana is part of the video's soundtrack. The excerpt, taken from one of the most famous scenes in the film Scarface, talks about how people's gaze ends up communicating better than words.

Relentless in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) since his debut in 2024, Prates has only been defeated once in the world's largest MMA organization, when he was knocked out by Ian Garry via unanimous decision. Since then, he has won three consecutive fights, all by knockout. This list includes notable former champions such as Jack Della Maddalena and Leon Edwards.
Immediately after his victory against Garry, Makhachev surprised everyone by revealing his desire to return to the octagon before Ramadan 2027, which will take place in February. When asked about his next opponent, he highlighted "The Nightmare" as the most likely name.
