In the featherweight division (up to 65,8 kg), Pavel Andrusca accepted the challenge with only six days' notice and did not disappoint. The Moldovan replaced Mairon Santos , who was originally scheduled to face Nathaniel Wood , and defeated the veteran by unanimous decision. At 24 years old, the fighter maintained his undefeated record in professional MMA and achieved his ninth career victory, six of them by knockout, in his debut in the organization.
The first minute was cautious, with Nathaniel trying to control the distance while Andrusca looked for takedowns. The Englishman defended the first attempts, but Pavel took him down at the two-minute mark. Unable to keep his opponent on the ground, the fight returned to a balanced stand-up battle, with the Moldovan resorting to stronger strikes.
In the second round, Nathaniel Wood landed a powerful cross and took Andrusca to the ground in the first few seconds. The young fighter recovered, resumed the fight on the ground and came close to locking in a katagatame, but the veteran defended. In the striking exchanges, the two traded good moments, until the Moldovan took the fight to the ground again and finished the round on top.
The third round started with a flurry of action, featuring a heavy exchange of blows. Andrusca feinted a takedown and landed a powerful punch that rocked Wood. He then pressed the Englishman against the cage, where he worked his strikes and looked for a takedown until finally bringing him to the ground with just over a minute remaining. Pavel maintained control until the final round and secured the victory.
