Dana White may be close to deciding Tom Aspinall 's future in the UFC. Since his fight at UFC 321 in October 2025, the Briton has suffered an eye injury and there is no timetable for his return. This situation now puts the heavyweight title (up to 120,2 kg) in jeopardy and could lead the organization's president to make a decision regarding the title.
In a press conference following a Zuffa Boxing event, Dana White indicated that the UFC should soon discuss the next steps for the division. The executive emphasized that Valentina Shevchenko does not wish to hinder the division's progress and believes Aspinall shares the same concern.

“We’re definitely going to talk about it. Valentina doesn’t want to stall the division. And I assume Tom feels the same way,” said Dana White.
The UFC president, however, admitted that he still doesn't have precise information about Aspinall's current state of health. According to White, the organization should clarify the Briton's situation soon before deciding on the future of the belt.
"I don't personally know his health status. We should clarify that soon," concluded the UFC president.
Tom Aspinall's situation could help Alex Poatan.
If Tom Aspinall is stripped of the heavyweight title (up to 120,2 kg), Alex Poatan could end up fighting for the undisputed title in the category. This is because the Brazilian has requested a rematch against interim champion Ciryl Gane , who has already given the green light for the fight.
