Alexandre Pantoja tried to recover the flyweight belt, but, unfortunately for him, he had Joshua Van in front of him . In the main fight of UFC 331 , an event held this Saturday (19), in California (USA), the Brazilian suffered from the champion's striking and lost the rematch by unanimous decision. Now, the veteran is 0-2 against the Burmese, who has been improving with each appearance in the octagon.

In the first round, Pantoja performed well, bothering Van in the striking exchanges and controlling him on the ground. However, from the second round onwards, the scenario changed for the Brazilian. The Burmese fighter grew into the fight and began to punish the former king of the category with a high volume of strikes. The fight followed this script until the end. Despite the Brazilian applying pressure in the octagon, the champion prevailed in the striking exchanges.
In the fourth round, Pantoja managed to take Van down and control him on the ground for a good amount of time. In the fifth and final round, Van regained control of the fight and staggered the veteran with his combinations.
