The welterweight Mike Perry was angry when he learned of the cancellation of his fight with Thiago “Pitbull” Alves, which would take place at UFC Pittsburgh this Saturday (16). The Brazilian probably had problems leaving Florida due to Hurricane Irma and was forced to leave the event, although the official reason for Thiago's departure was not disclosed. For Perry, however, Pitbull was scared.

In an interview with the North American website MMA Junkie, “Platinum” showed that he was irritated with the Brazilian and said that the video of his knockout on Jake ellenberger, which was reproduced on UFC social media throughout the week, must have made Pitbull rethink whether it was worth facing him.

PUBLICITY:

“Man, I need to start thinking better about the things I say, because these guys are starting to be scared of me. The UFC posted the video of my knockout over Ellenberger on all social media with the words “Knockout of the Week”. This may have scared Thiago Alves. He got scared. He must have seen and rethought everything. I was irritated because he took home all the recognition I would get for beating him. What also irritates me is that I prepared a lot for this and I won't be able to see that preparation translate into a victory over him,” said Perry.

In Thiago's place, the UFC will promote the debut of Alex Reyes, who has a 13-2 record and is a jiu-jitsu black belt. Perry doesn't believe that's enough for Reyes to beat him.

PUBLICITY:

“It’s a lose-lose situation for me. I'm giving this guy a chance and I get practically nothing. But I'm here to fight and I'm happy to fight. He's a black belt and thinks that's enough to prevent him from leaving the octagon seriously injured. But you know what to expect from someone who locks himself in a cage with me”, threatened “Platinum”.
